Processing Beaver Hide at Log Cabin Build - Sweden

  • Am 27 Jul 2020 veröffentlicht
  • I normally do off gird log cabin building videos. You can find those videos on my channel.
In this video I am processing two of my own beaver hides at the location of my log cabin build in Sweden.
    Short introduction:
I just graduated from high school and want a big challenge in life. I decided that I alone with only hand tools and raw power was going to build my own traditional off grid log cabin by hand in the Swedish forest.
Next episode will be back to working on the log cabin. :)

I do leather crafting as a hobby so this vid is of special interest to me. I buy all my leather pre-tanned and processed and it is quite pliable. I am wondering if there is a process known to you to make the beaver hides softer and what uses you have for them.

Nice change of pace! Enjoyed the scenery, birdsong and your wee puppy. Isn't it nice to have a break from constantly building. Stay safe and healthy! Ken from Canada
