Love all the smartasses and the haters. Here's an idea... how about commenting positively on the subject of an amazing, beautiful piece of machinery able to carry us anywhere we wish to go in the world in a reasonable amount of time. It's amazing that we have evolved from throwing rocks at each other to have the ability to develop something as incredible as the 777X. Oh, but wait... we STILL throw rocks at each other. It's called "social media." Society's number one problem, not the airplane in this video. Stay positive and show some love, my fellow humans! 👍

Oh, come on! What a waste! The Dreamliner is a bad design because the rigid wingtips and long, slender wings cause (in certain conditions) extreme shimmy and adverse yaw. I'm saying this from experience and avoid flying on them; the designs of the past are solid and reliable, giving tens of thousands of flight hours for each aircraft without a single fatal incident. Boeing ought to give up while it's ahead and dump these idiotic designers and managers who think they can increase prices $50 per flight per person by adding "folding X" unnecessary crap.

    • Appable
      Appable Vor Monat

The actual point of the folding wingtips is to decrease operating costs but okay. Also, modern aircraft with high aspect ratio wings have far, far better safety records than older planes. It's getting difficult to figure out how reliable they are because planes like A320neo just don't crash.

J R not obviously, dual engine failure is very rare except in instances where that same failure would take out all engines on a four engine plane. Meanwhile more chance of uncontained engine failure leading to major damage to systems in the wing

This aircraft has the same problem as the 737 MAX, the engines are too high, which will create it to stall.
Boeing has compromise safety, and people's lives are on the line.

    • Appable

Mar Taylor Did I say 737 MAX was safe? It’s not unstable but it also has a major design issue with MCAS implementation.

    • Appable
      Appable Vor Monat

hector bossio Completely false. “Engines too high” is not an engineering analysis, 777 has relaxed stability with robust pitch control law anyway so handling issues can be solved easily, and 737 MAX was not unstable nor did it have any problem in a normal flight envelope

Profits over human lives.Good luck. I won't fly on that plane after your cost cutting didn't update pilots of the new systems. Grounded and still not fixed.
