This is an important video, powerful and full of good information. Unfortunately it's also what's made me understand the point I heard about naming inanimate servants after women and how problematic that coding is. "Alexa, I'm home" felt so twisted and wrong. If you're an old person, I can see how that level of familiarity could be comforting (for some people). As young people or young families, it builds the comparison of women and objects, women and servitude, and women having no life but to provide for others.

You think it’s hard having a 20 pound weight on your chest and heavy legs? I mean, the other stuff makes it worse but just last week I was in a twin sized bed with a 45 pound 4 year old, 30 pound 3 year old, and 150 pound 16 year old. All of the road trips, plane rides, and dirty public bathrooms have trained me for this life

It's the same for the disabled. I understand the world is not made for me, but I make the best of it anyway and put effort into enjoying my life. But I still feel loss. I still feel and see where I can't participate and don't fit on, or get overlooked. I'm in my late 20's but I feel 60+ at times because of how I'm seen and treated by community at large. All I require is a wheelchair to aid myself in dealing with a muscle disease. Seeing me using a wheelchair should feel as common to people as those that wear glasses, but it is STILL common to go anywhere and see inaccessibility. It's the same for the elderly, and having a disability ages you 40 yours in many peoples eyes. I love my life and others, but sometimes it does hurt really bad.

I'm happy I get to be there for my grandparents but many don't have the luxury for someone to help them. We won't fully understand until we either see it with our eyes or go through it ourselves.

is it the younger generation or is it the baby boomer generation? i haven't seen anyone in my age group Millennial's, that ignore old people. at the same time people are busy busy bees, time is valued above all else in this day and age because the younger generation is stressed from the lack of wages, at least in the us, there isn't time to stop and help the older generation. there is a lot more going on then, insert generation, is ignoring the older generation. this is a two way street and most old people can't see past themselves either because like the younger generation they are busy as fuck keeping themselves together. there is common ground here between the two, both work far too much and get almost no reward for their effort. i love most old people because i LOVE hearing about their experiences in life. i suppose not a lot of people are like me so eh, maybe i'm wrong about my generation.

i think it would a good idea to see the try guys live on minimum wage for a month. bring some light to all the other generations that life fucking sucks right now. this will then bring light to the older generation, which most don't even have any retirement money. this means they have to live off of SS the rest of their life, which isn't easy in any respect. even worse if you are by yourself. this isn't a simple problem that can be fixed that easily, it's VERY complex and it ties straight into the political world.

another video done on money in politics would be another great video to bring light to the majority of problems that spring from the bowels of corporate greed. as former buzzfeed employees i'm sure you can easily relate to this in some way. truly the root of the majority of our problems stems from corporate lobbying and our political electives getting hand outs by these companies in exchange for tax cuts, unethical regulation removal and worse straight up dark money that isn't even traceable. how does someone in congress or the house become a multimillionaire on a salary of just 174k in less then 4 years? follow where they got the money from and you will find out EXACTLY who they will vote in favor of, this is all just a game to these people.

anyway, i'm sure most wont understand or even bother to look up the real state of our country. no one really ever does their homework anymore, why are humans so blind until it personally affects them and is thus too late to do anything about it in a reasonable amount of time. are you depressed by the world yet? no? well that's good, make sure you do your homework this election cycle and you fucking better read up on everyone and WHERE they get their money from and their TRUE motives behind why they take money from the places they do. then you better fucking vote.

also no, it's not off topic. politics DIRECTLY affects EVERYONE in some way. most people either don't care or don't understand that it does. people willfully ignore it because they think they don't matter or their vote wont change anything. remember Trump was elected by only 35k votes and while Hillary would of been more corporate shilling, at least we wouldn't be fucking clowns. don't you dare miss voting this time.

My grandma was a war nurse then she saved 2 lives at the age of 55, she lost her husband in 2016. She went through depression calling us 3 times a day to see if we were alright, to see if we were alive. It annoyed us, but now I understand. She frequently thought that she was sick, she went to the hospital for a week and annoyed all the nurses. She got an eye operation 2 weeks ago. A part of her face is paralyzed, her hand is broken and will probably never heal, she needs a cane to walk, she can’t take the stairs but she is the most amazing grandmother in the world. When everybody hated me for not crying at the loss of my grandfather she loved me, no matter what. I eat with her every sunday, I call her every two days. Take time to see your loved ones, before it’s too late.

On the subject of accessibility it goes for people with disabilities too although that goes hand in hand sometimes. But like going with grocery stores and high shelves or narrow aisles. Not only can they not be reached but sometimes you can’t even go to them because if you’re in a wheelchair or something you can’t fit either. Not to mention getting stared at constantly (I use a cane but sometimes have to use the motorized chair at the store and the looks like I’m a child stealing it are awful.) But looked through when you need help.

You could be 70 and be doing something as simple as waiting in line and I wouldn’t think differently about you if you needed help ask. If I didn’t hear you then ask again. My hearing can slip away when I’m not focused. Maybe because I was raised with older parents? That doesn’t mean I’m I don’t respect older people and there everyday probs. I myself will be there one day in my life so 🤷‍♀️
