    You can scrape off the burn with a butter knife.... Best burger imo is some super awesome sharp cheddar on top with a big ol slab of onion. Good roll and some beef and that is all you need.

    Actually, there are two types of American Cheese. What is mostly sold in stores is the "cheese product" you're referring to which is not actually cheese. However, the better version, and most likely what you are using, is a blend of Cheddar, Colby, granular (Parmigiano-Reggiano) and washed cured (Gouda, Havarti, Monterrey Jack, etc), or any combination of those. You can tell the difference by the'll either say "American Processed Cheese," "American Processed Cheese Product," or "American Processed Cheese Food." The last two have additives such as milk, cream, buttermilk, or albumin (cheese whey byproduct). A cheese labeled "processed" doesn't necessarily mean it's not real cheese, it's just not made in the same way conventional single varietal cheeses are made, and could very well just be a blend of natural or single varietal cheeses. You can also tell the difference by the price. While true American Cheese isn't that much more expensive, it is WAY more flavorful! Hope this helps!

    As a British person...I don’t know what a Smash burger is, or a slider, or a potato bun or chuck meat?? I’m sure it’s common knowledge in America BUT...Primitive folk in Europe have yet to grasp these alien concepts 🥴 when I watch American cooking shows and you refer to using a STICK of butter in the recipe...I don’t know how much a STICK of butter is?     One good thing about living in Las Vegas: Shake Shack, In N Out Burger, Smash Burger (a chain), Tommy's, Fat Burger, The Habit are pretty close to my house. In N Out by far is the best drive-through and the rest are really good for eating inside the restaurant. I pity those who live in those more small towns that only have McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's and other similar "Pink Slime" palaces.

    That is absolutely the right amount of pickles on a burger!! Whenever I go places I ask for extra pickles and half the time they only give me like four. I like when they give me a little bowl on the side so I can put a bunch on and also snack on them!
