China is still a poor and backward communist country, and people have no freedom or property. The Chinese are eager to get help from the United States. Come and repair railways and power plants. 99% of people in China have not used electricity and trains. Everyone can't get online. Everyone is hungry. We can't afford a year's salary for basketball. All Chinese tourists, entrepreneurs, international students and rich people are Chinese actors who are sent to the world to promote China. The Beijing Olympics is a drama, and China does not have any modern and magnificent infrastructure. People are still as miserable as the Stone Age. The average life expectancy is only 35 years old and the illiteracy rate is as high as 99%. No one has seen cars and planes. Smartphones require 20 years of salary for ordinary people.

I take the same stance as the South Park creators making a mock apology after they offended China when they mentioned how it's sad that companies are putting profits about our countries freedom of speech. Yes I understand the companies want to keep making as much money as they can, but I see it as China being sensitive little bitches who want to control the world with their buying power every time they get offended by something said or done that goes against them.

@Tom Franklin Lmao. Seriously you have never seen such posts on the Internet? I read about those when I was in middle school. I guess so, because the western media would only criticize that China suppresses such arguments, and of course the English version of Global Times won't say so. Then you will think, oh it must because it's not allowed. That's exactly my point that the information can be very biased for westerners due to the language limits.
Furthermore, such tones have actually been very popular and even prevalent for a fairly long time. People hold such views led the most recent immigrant wave in the past ten years and some are still active online. However, more and more people start to lean to a different view, not because they are mentally or physically controlled which is ridiculous, but because they truly don't agree with the statements they listed. Of course, most people are in between.

    • Tom Franklin
      Tom Franklin Vor Stunde

@Ling *People criticize the gov all the time, and problems are resolved, too.*
Pretending the CCP-allowed "safe" criticism is the same as getting the full picture of the CCP is ridiculous, try posting an essay on the flaws of autocracy on Chinese social media, or try pointing out how capitalism, not the CCP, gets the credit for China's economic boom. Chinese citizens can complain about the CCP's corruption, and then they believe the level of corruption is normal for governments both democratic and autocratic, try pointing out how Totalitarianism is far more susceptible to corruption than democracies. You'll be lucky if you don't disappear along with your post.

    • Ling
      Ling Vor Stunde

@Tom Franklin I'm dying. You literally blew my mind.
You are the one that being brainwashed by saying "Most of the people who praise the CCP do it because they only saw the good", Tell me how you can fake the lives of 1.4 billion people. People criticize the gov all the time, and problems are resolved, too. I don't see how a demonized picture of 1984 is anything close to reality. That you have zero idea about basic everyday life shows how little you actually know about things that you claim you know. You don't seem to want to know more, either. Sadly you are just one of those ignorant people being fooled and getting hyper. Truly open and wise people don't act like this, bro.
I just hope you don't educate your kids in the same way.

    • Tom Franklin
      Tom Franklin Vor 4 Stunden

@Ling *refers to a common yet wrongful reasoning that the reason why people speak highly of CCP is because they are brainwashed, rather than that the CCP have really done good things that significantly benefit the people.*
You just described a part of brainwashing, only showing the good side of the CCP, never showing the bad. I'm sure I'll be happy with any president if the media only ever spoke of the good things he did.
*Under such thinking, every praise is the result of brainwash and shouldn't be counted, while the criticism is trustful. which not surprisingly leads to the conclusion that CCP is evil. lol.*
This is incorrect, anti-CCP individuals think the arguments presented by the critics proves the CCP is not good as a whole. Most of the people who praise the CCP do it because they only saw the good, and that's brainwashing.
*When people are hurt and killed by mobs, without any evidence, the westerners say, oh that injured person was an actor hired by CCP to tarnish the name of the pro-democratic mobs.*
While false flag operations are certainly possible, the vast majority of people accept the existence of violence. Claiming most westerners believe otherwise is false.
*and it can't be called concentration camp when people go home every day*
According to the one person you heard from. While most other accounts claim otherwise. I said this before, do I need to repeat it again? Your anecdotal evidence is not enough to counter all the other reports we've been seeing.
I wouldn't be surprised if people who work in the actual concentration camps aren't allowed to talk about it to outsiders, only the people who work in the good camps are allowed to speak
*To me, the picture is the gov has responded to its people's call, and protected its people from terrorism and violence.*
That is exactly what the government did, and their method of protection is by putting Uyghurs into camps en mass.
*The west zoom in and find some misconducts and shout out, while they think it's totally normal and fine that the hk mobs burn people's cars and destroy random stores.*
"Think it's totally normal and fine"
What fantasy world do you live in? Which westerner you talked to supported burning people's cars?
*while that the terrorists killed random people is anecdotal, exceptional, totally an individual behavior, and largely forgivable. Hard to believe, huh?*
What fantasy world do you live in? Who was in favor of forgiving terrorists?
*I don't know what your evidence is about "facing the risk of life"*
You think the CCP is too noble for blackmail? There was one Uygur activist who had his family members killed and imprisoned for his political activism.
*when they can clearly see people criticize the gov. fiercely once they are on any Chinese social media.*
The Chinese people I know said in no uncertain terms that you can't criticize the government on Chinese social media, any allotted criticism is carefully controlled by the government. I need you to explain this claim

So many countries invaded China: Japan, Britain, France, Russia etc. China lose so many territory. If you do some research about China’s history, you will figure that out. However, China never invade any countries until now. Now China is strong and powerful.
