  • With data from the Hubble Space Telescope, water vapor has been detected in the atmosphere of an exoplanet within the habitable zone of its host star.
K2-18b, which is eight times the mass of Earth, is the only planet orbiting a star outside the solar system (or “exoplanet”) within the habitable zone.

Just like a star is born and dies life has to end to begin, May be life in the center of our galaxy has already gone extinct and we are the last remaining intelligent life forms in the fringe of our galaxy, wouldn't it be better to look for alien life at the other arms at the fringe of our galaxy than the center of our galaxy, After all we have the technology to harness light into energy but we still are plagued by our own manufactured limitations.

Somewhere in this unfathomably large universe that we live in, there exists the possibility that there are real dragons that can breathe fire and look strongly similar to our mythologies. That idea makes me happy even if I never find out if it's true.

Hopefully one day in the faaaaar future (we will be long dead) our grand grand kids kids will travel this infinite universe and find life or even better humans not relying on Earth as the only planet suitable for human's, just look how good NASA are exploring the universe but the government doesn't budget them enough money to explore more of the universe I always believe the impossible is possible just look how far scientists came proving Einstein wrong and taking a picture of a black hole
Lalela I believe what we say is impossible today like making a warp drive machine which can travel x3000 or more the speed of light one day will be possible
And not to forget the best editing its just great nice video

Nice animations until the cringy blasphemous reflection of the Earth in the mirror of the James Webb 1:35 - 1:38. Looks like a reflection in a funhouse mirror!
The surface of the mirror would have to be manufactured with such a tolerence that there would be no way to detect imperfections with the naked eye. It should look flawless.
It was haunting to watch it again just to get the time markers of the video. I'm probably going to have nightmares about it, thanks NASA..

Us humans are very picky...like, does it have a magnetic field to shield us from radiation? Does it rotate so that we dont get too hot? Does it have a 1G gravity field? Sad to say if any of these are missing or not up to specs, then we cannot live there...but then again, maybe something else can which is why these planets must be protected from rapatious beings such as ourselves...

    • Joshua Shaw
      Joshua Shaw Vor 4 Monate

Good questions Will. I'm sure there is not enough data to speak to most of them, but they did sort-of answer one at 0:43. The relationship between mass and gravitational attraction suggests that it will be much greater than 1G, but not a full 8G at the surface (unless the planet is the same size as earth but 8 times the density).

The reason that we don’t see much life in space is because something is stopping other life from moving forward. The less life we see means The more chance we avoided that “something” and moved on. But that’s just a scientific theory.
