As you may have noticed, we like to blow stuff up on this channel. So when the International Red Cross approached us to collaborate on a video about nuclear weapons, we were more than excited.
Until we did the research. It turned out we were a bit oblivious off the real impact of nuclear weapons in the real world, on a real city. And especially, how helpless even the most developed nations on earth would be if an attack occurred today.
So hopefully this video demonstrates how extremely non fun a real world nuclear attack would be, without being too gruesome. This collaboration was a blast (no pun intended) and we want to say a huge thank you to the International Red Cross!

Real things like this to be worried about, and people are going hysterical over fantastical fabricated bullshit like climate change and starting me too movements...yes this generation is full of retards. But that being said, NWs are necessary for other events that don't just threaten one city, but the entire human race itself...getting rid of all of the would be an incredibly stupid move. Maybe that can be your next video; what would happen if an asteroid the size of Manhattan were to hit earth?...

what happens if you nuke a city?
Answer: people die in the city. Then you have to go to war against that city's nation.

The presence of nuclear weapons is one of the few things that keep large states from starting the third world war. Pseudo-pacifist sentiments only increase the possibility of a conflict

There should be a few nuclear weapons, but all of them under the control of every country simultaneously. They should exist as an Earth defense tool. Whether they're used to slow an impending asteroid, or to defend against alien invasion, they should exist in that capacity. But nothing like the amount we currently have.

If nukes would disappear from the world, we would be able to focus 100% on mandatory things and prevent future wars as well. Nuclear weapon only provoke wars, because their threathing to the woord. Things such as environmental issues; hunger, war, poverty are the ones that we should focus WAY more on. I hope that some day, nuclear weapons won't exist anymore.

honestly nuclear weapons are the best thing that happened to humanity. Things like a new world war simply can't happen anymore because everyone knows that everyone will die as nuclear will be the only option. Nuclear weapons have literally brought us more peace than we can even imagine and I do not want them to be gone.

The fact that countries regularly threaten each other with nukes is proof that many world leaders are emotional children that may be blind to the utter devastation of such mutually assured destruction due to petty arguments over land, resources, policy, currency.
A nuclear war would be dozens if not hundreds times worse than what's shown in this video. *Is some black liquid worth that? Is currency worth that?*
The 5 states with the most amount of nuclear weapons (ironically all are under the terms of a treaty named "The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons") are Russia at *6,500* nukes, the USA at *6,185* nukes, France at 300, China at 290, and the United Kingdom at 215.

Sorry, but this technology is not going anywhere. The only deterrent to nuclear weapons being used against you is if the people who would use them against you would be annihilated along with you. Without mutually assured destruction, there is *no* reason one country wouldn’t use them on one that doesn’t have them. Japan can tell you all about that.

that a pretty big bomb the scale is kind of off
2km fireball? that like w-52 titan 2 icbm (9Mt) not a small bomb at all also you missed the emp effekt that allone will kill every electronic in a radius way higher then the shockwave itself

so no cars, no computer, no electrecety at all and its not likhas a transiston in it will be death (trash)
its like a spuerblackout that can take up 19months to be fixed because every power line and ever electronic device need to be replaced or rebuild
and we life in a world that need computer to build 90%5 of its goods

also you fatalatys are kind of low here a 9Mt nuke like this (2km fireball) detonatet over NY and you have 4-5 millon fatalatys
so have a nice day :D

    • Big blue Button man

No, a 2KM fireball is from a 1 megaton blast. Look up nukemap, they have a 1 megaton preset and the dimensions of the blast are nearly identical to what’s specified here.
