@Caleb Foxhoven i’d like to add, there are women that think they can “change” men. that isn’t usually a good place to start and you will usually be disappointed. also,my take wasn’t that she wants a “pussy” for a man either. if someone has a way of being you don’t particularly like, how long should you wait around hoping things might change or be better in some way? i think she’s just saying there are people that have a very specific personality and mindset that she realized, in practical everyday terms, she isn’t fond of.

    • Daniel Whitehurst
Daniel Whitehurst Vor 6 Stunden +2

@Caleb Foxhoven ur right u didnt say that, so instead plz explain what "I wish we started realizing that men have a tendency to be that way and it requires a good women to balance that out. Not my problem to fix" means. Cuz to me that looks like ur saying men have a tendency to act like douchebags since what she was addressing in the video was ambitious men acting like assholes. And off of this claim, requiring a woman to fix that is beyond the weakest mindset I could think of. But if you have an explanation of what u meant in that specific comment then I'm willing to hear it.

    • Caleb Foxhoven
      Caleb Foxhoven Vor 6 Stunden

@Daniel Whitehurst I never said that. I was arguing that based on the video the only thing I can take from it is that she wants a man that is a pussy. When we will stop fearing strong men? I take responsibilities seriously. I have a serious job and take care of my entire family. I don’t need to defend myself because my actions speak enough. All I said was that this video shows the exact opposite of that. Weak women who are scared of strong men.

It seems like some people do not know what working class means. Your parents working every day does not mean you were brought up in a working class family. Going to expensive schools is also almost impossible with working class parents. From what you are talking I would assume you were middle class or upper middle class and some of your school mates were upper class/super rich.

    • water dog
water dog Vor 3 Stunden +1

@Phil let's not come down too hard on some kid though. I'm guessing her parents had English as a second language, and she probably never knew the difference. I mean she is probably a teen or in her 20s and saying that she had a lot of boyfriends, when by adult standards she probably hasn't had a long term relationship, she is probably talking about 5 boys that she dated for up to 3 months, but when you are a kid you have no idea what perspective is.

@water dog I think her parents could easily do a spontanious vaccation but lets not order social classes by that. Its still a bit dishonest how she phrased her story, which is tone deaf. The whole ghist of her story was that she couldn't relate to the super rich peers in her school like billionairs kids. There are always some relative differences in the same social classes, a kid from the ghetto with a single parents has it harder then one from the same class with both parents. But if you reach a certain point of wealth it feels so cheap to relativise privilliges and categorize yourself as a workingclass upringing. Especially in the context of the videos topic it feels so missplaced and tone deaf.

    • water dog
      water dog Vor 10 Stunden

Seems like semantics. I mean I can see why you might take offense if you were from a family living at the poverty line that was struggling and both parents worked low paying jobs.
I think she meant that while her parents had to work hard for the family's income, her peers had parents that could drop everything for a spontaneous vacation, that had businesses that didn't require them to run them anymore, or investments that could pay them and thir kids for life.
Yes what I described is upper-middle and rich.

*She wants a deer that looks, sounds and pretends to hunt like a lion.*

She want someone who's ambitious yet isn't hard enough to ever achieve anything. So basically she wants a privileged person who pretends to be ambitious with generational wealth, but is soft enough to please her. She however doesn't want to settle for a person who is nice but not "ambitious".

    • Daniel Whitehurst
      Daniel Whitehurst Vor Stunde

@EveryMinuteAsuckerISborn I see life has token its toll on many people. That aspect of life is what molds you into who you are. But having ambition does not coincide with being an asshole. When you let your ambitions run your entire life and never live in the present then yeah ur gonna act selfish and self absorbed. Because you're looking out for only yourself and you're future. In my personal experience life is about balance, you can still hold onto those lofty ideals of where u wanna be in life while being kind and present. It does not mean allowing yourself to be taken advantage of, and any person knows a cornered cat will still bare its fangs. But it means enjoying the journey while you get to where u need to go. Dont forgot ur dreams but dont lose urself over them. If I had a catchy quote that related to this in my mind I'd probably say it😂. Nevertheless, you'll never find peace until u accept where u are in the moment and choose to enjoy it. You'll never be happy if u reach where u wanna go by trampling others in the process. It's the reason why so many suicides are men that clawed there way to the top or tried to get there and ended up with so many material things but no soul. Not saying a person cant change once they get there and find happiness. But why hate urself for so long only to enjoy the end when u can enjoy the whole trip. Hard times come and they also pass. So why stay stuck and scarred by them when you can learn and move past em?

@Daniel Whitehurst kind ambitious person is an oxymoron for anyone who understands the world for it is and not what they want it to be. Maybe you'll understand from this old little saying.

      Hard times create capitalists.
      Capitalists create good times.
      Good times create socialists.
      Socialists create hard times.

You don't become ambitious from being sheltered and cared for. Ambition comes from pain. Pain doesn't create nice people. It creates hard people who don't give a shit about anyone's opinion about them. But, second gen millionaires... They fit her description of the perfect man.

    • Daniel Whitehurst
Daniel Whitehurst Vor 6 Stunden +2

When did she say that. She wants someone ambitious and driven without being an asshole. She is putting alot of ppl in a box (EVEN THOUGH SHE SAYS ITS PROBABLY NOT TRUE AND ONLY FROM HER EXPERIENCE) when she talks about how the best traits of that mindset eventually turned out to be the worst. But that's her valid opinion. And she never contradicted herself once. Her type is someone who is ambitious and kind. Damn, doesn't that sound like a good ass person? I dont get how being goal focused yet kind is a big issue. So if u can, plz elaborate.

Every thing else including physical attraction or sexual compatibility is too much of a short order parameter, to hold any relationship together past the infatuation or honeymoon period. The perfect scenario is that by the time the infatuation wears off, you can't imagine not having the other's personality, opinions, support and conversation in your life.

@Dora Cotterell There are always exceptions to the rule but the rule is that working class can't afford private education. Some are able. But a majority? I doubt it. Otherwise there'd be a steady decline in the working class in any of these countries if all their offspring were getting good expensive education except that's not happening.

    • Dora Cotterell

Robert Valenzuela - that’s not quite accurate, dear. Having lived in Asia for a time in my long life span, I can testify that an Asian parent will sell their SOULS to get their child into the very best schools possible. They have very high standards for the future of their children and even plumbers and store owners will demand that their children accomplish the highest grade that their ability can achieve. Totally different from the North American point of view.
A parent who is a shoe shiner may have saved all his life to be certain that an excellent education facility is available to their future or present children. Trust me. Their dedication extracts severe sacrifices which the parents willingly give for the sake of their children.
      Humbling dedication to witness, friend.

@A. Neufeld Entire cultures is Asia is based on helping their daughter find the best man for her. A good dad who's had alot of experience can decern in seconds if the person is actually into you and will provide for you or use you and leave.
Females are generally agreeable and won't be able to give you sound advice unless she is a realistic woman.
Men who don't want to get with you Father/brother will never lie to you.

Me as a man I see through everything. I don't lead with my wallet. It's easy to tell a woman's motivation but, yeah most men can't discern what manipulative game she is playing it's all about experience.

      A. Neufeld Vor 9 Tage

@Roshill There is some truth to that. I'm a woman and I'm pretty good at figuring out the intent of other women. Sometimes men date women who are so clearly manipulative or very shallow, and I wonder how they don't see through it. Yet I can be naive too when it comes to figuring out men :P

This is why I think it's generally a good idea to ask friends/family what they think of your partner before you're in too deep, regardless of gender.

When dating didn't exist most marriages actually lasted longer than a few months and people were sincerely attached to their spouses. Divorces and children from single parents are a bane to society. This "process" needs to be destroyed and replaced

I think the defintion of working class is dependant on where you're from. In the uk as the defintion is broad lots of people identify to it. For me I see it as usually being dependant on the job you do for example labour intensive jobs and/or jobs where you have minimal qualifications. But people in the same household can belong to different class brackets depending on the job they do or education they have.
